Instrelec Services undertook the electrical design and installation in Nov 07 and completed commissioning and handover in March 08 for the first stage of the project. (the vent stack and first 3 flares). Since then 2 more flares have been installed and commissioned by Instrelec Services and these came online in May 08.
The flaring plant currently burns approx 1500l/s of methane from the underground coal seams. Instrelec Services was a proud partner of Beltana coal in the undertaking of the flaring of Methane to reduce the mine’s overall environmental impact.
